We opened up our spring MBIS newsletter, to find a story by Thomas on page 3. And it's about Emmett! Here it is:
Far far away and a long time ago there lived a boy named Emmett. He went for a walk in the woods. Suddenly he fell down a hole. Bump! "I'm lost" he said. Then he saw a house and went inside. Then he saw a bowl of cheerios and 2 bowls of oatmeal. Then the gummy bears came and he ate them.
You can see why this story was one of only two chosen to represent the class. My favorite part is the "bump!" But the giant gummy bears at the end are good too.
here is an easter bonnet fight:
In one week we leave for Sicily! Ciao.

The new Thomas story is big news ! This is the start of many Thomas stories in print I am sure. I love the reference to Alice in Wonderland and then the 3 bears combined with a hint of 2013 thrown in at the end. Plus younger brother memoir too.
Absolutely adorable. As someone who has read MANY primary school stories over 16 years of teaching, I have to say the creativity in this one is remarkable. I do wonder where he got such writing skills...ha ha!!! Keep the stories coming!
This is exactly what happened when we landed bump in the New World and sat down to corn and turkey and then the Indians came.
Your affectionate ancestor,
WB
PS. Do you think he ate the gummy bears or the cereals? I assumed the former.
WB
The former. What did you do with the Indians?
They didn't fare so well either, though we only ate them when nothing else was available.
For all those going to Sicily ! Please take lots of pictures...I've never been there....
Spaghetti !
Sicily....hmmm....La puglia mentioned earlier in this blog was Sicilian I believe. Eat well, toasts to the sheep nuts, and unpaid preachers
Your content has expired and the due date originally on these items is long past due. Please refresh this site.
Somehow I missed this story. I was hoping th gummy bears would eat emmett, just for a twist. Well done Thomas.
