Can You Have Too Much of a Good Thing?
According to Emmett's pediatrician, the answer is yes. Here are Emmett's two month stats:
Weight 16 lbs 5 oz-- 100%
Height 24 1/4 inches-- 90%
Head Circumference 16 1/8 inches-- 75%
Thomas' 2 month stats are lost in the mists of time. However, at one month Emmett was 1 lb more than Thomas had been (almost 13 lbs vs. almost 12 lbs for Thomas) so he's probably still running a bit bigger. Dr. Sexter said it was fine that Emmett weighs 16 lbs at 2 months but she doesn't think he should weigh 18 lbs at 3 months. How she thinks we can stop this from happening, I don't know.
Emmett has a sizeable baby cousin, Theodotia. Theo's 2 month stats can be found here-- http://elsieasayo.blogspot.com/2008/09/theo-had-her-two-month-check-up-at.html.
I don't want to get all competitive, but let's just say we look forward to a wrasslin match sometime soon.
Also, does anyone know anyone who needs some newborn baby boy clothes? Because we seem to have grown out of all of ours.
Thomas on the other hand has decided that he won't be growing up--

Emmett's Fist Two Months
This is the illustrated history of the Kirkpatrick boys of Washington D.C.. Inspired by our west coast cousins, but a little late to the blogging game, we're picking up right in the middle of things. Here's Thomas:
aka "Fatty." Emmett Peter Kirkpatrick just arrived recently on March 4th. He has been warmly welcomed by many. First on the scene were Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Doug who capably looked after us while we got used to the new situation:
Including namesake Grandpa Peter:
Grandpa Peter sure can tell a story:
Here's Emmett's dimple, which is just like his Dad:
It's common to feel sorry for new parents of 2, because it is a lot of work.
Next up: Emmett's 2 month stats. Watch out, Theodotia!
